Children learn best through hands on activities. This penguin themed game will have your students engaged as they learn and read CVC words!
This game is perfect for small groups or independent practice. It includes 12 game boards so you can differentiate learning. This allows you to choose just one short vowel at a time or mixed short vowels.
How to Play
To prepare this game simply print the 12 game boards and 12 spinners. Laminate for durability. The students will need a small paper clip and pencil to make the spinner and small erasers to cover the words. I used mini snowflake erasers but you can also use white pompoms (as snowballs) or Goldfish Crackers (as penguin food) to cover the words.
The children will spin the spinner, identify the picture and cover the word on their game board. Play until all of the words are covered.
This game also includes a LOW INK set. Instead of the game boards simply print out the matching worksheet. The children will color the words instead of covering them. They can also take it home and read the words at home for extra practice!
