This hands on literacy activity includes 30 word mats with letter marshmallows to spell each CVC word. There are 6 words for each vowel sound. This allows you to focus on just one vowel sound at a time, if desired. Use them all for a review of all short vowels!
How to Play:
To prepare this activity simply print the 30 word mats and marshmallows, laminate and cut. Choose the cards you want to use with your students. For example, if you are working on Short E put only the Short E cards and matching marshmallows in the container. OR place a few of each vowel sounds in the container to review all vowel sounds. Have your students say the name of the picture on the cocoa cup and use the letter marshmallows to spell each CVC word. You could also use letter magnets or tiles to spell each word.
