Here is a fun literacy activity to practice digraphs at the beginning of words. This fun center has a hot cocoa theme so it is perfect to use all Winter!
This activity includes 32 puzzles in all. There are 8 of each beginning digraph: CH, SH, TH, & WH. Use each set as you learn the digraph sound. Mix them all up once all of the digraphs are learned. These are great for a warm up activity for small groups or for literacy centers and independent work.
How to Play
To prepare this activity simply print on cardstock and laminate. Cut each picture in half on the gray dashed line.
The children will choose one half of a hot cocoa mug, say the name of the picture and find a match with the beginning digraph. Encourage your students to say each picture and digraph sound out loud as they complete the puzzles.
An optional enrichment worksheet is also included with this set. Use it for assessment, morning work or homework.
