Spring Centers for Kindergarten

Spring is right around the corner and that means sunshine, warm days, puddle jumping and flowers beginning to peek out of the ground! The first day of Spring is just two days away and I cannot wait! So to prepare us for the season of warm weather and flowers, I created this

Spring Ten Frames are fun to add to a math center or morning bin. Students choose a ten frame mat and count out the correct amount of flowers to place on the mat. You can use the flower counters that are provided or Spring mini erasers.

Spring Number Order includes three number order math activities. To complete the activity the children will choose a number order card and write the numbers in the correct order on the recording sheet. This makes an engaging activity for math centers, small groups, or independent work. I also like to use the cards when I need a “five minute filler”. I will show the class a card and they will tell me the correct order.

Spring Counting by 1’s, 2’s 5’s and 10’s includes 4 activities in one set! Choose the set that best matches the needs of your students. Children will use the number cards and put them in order by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s or 10’s. Next, they can complete the enrichment sheet.

I LOVE Count the Room activities! It is a great way for the kids to “get those wiggles out” while learning. Hang the cards in various places in the classroom. Then, place the recording sheet on a clipboard and have the children search the room for the cards. Once they find a card, they will count the Spring objects and record the amount on the sheet. So fun!

This spring themed literacy center includes 40 CVC sound box cards – 8 for each short vowel! Use the Spring CVC Sound Box Cards with plastic letter tiles, magnetic letters or laminate and use Expo Vis a Vis Markers to write the words.

I really love Spring Letters and Beginning Sounds because there are SO many ways to use it! As you can see from the picture above you can make matches in four different ways! Use one set at a time OR print all four sets for four centers! First, match uppercase to lowercase letters. Next, match uppercase to beginning sound. Then, match lowercase to beginning sound. Finally, match two pictures with the same beginning sounds. This little set has enough to last you all Spring and meet the needs of many learners.

Are you working on rhyming this Spring? This Spring Rhyming Game can be played like the traditional “Memory” game. There are 18 sets of rhyming words. You can pick and choose which ones you want to use during your small group instruction time or literacy centers.

Are you looking for a fun way to build sentences this Spring? This sentence scramble activity includes 20 color codes sentences that include sight words and seasonal words. These are perfect for small groups or word work center. There is also a cut-paste-write-draw coordinating worksheet for each sentence.
