It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week! That short week of Thanksgiving is always a tough one, especially if you have just 2 and a half days of school! “Write the Room” is always a favorite center in my classroom. It gets the kids up an moving around the room – a perfect way to combine learning and fun! Here is my Thanksgiving Write the Room.
Hang the 12 cards around your classroom.
Give each child a clipboard and a recording sheet. Next, they walk around the room searching for the pictures and words. When they find the word they write it in the space beside the picture.

Do you make Stone Soup in your classroom for Thanksgiving? This event is always a fun one! We all help make the Stone Soup for our Thanksgiving Feast. We read several versions of the story. We compare and contrast the stories . . . the different characters, food, and events. Each child brings a vegetable to school. We sort them and count them before we peel, chop and cook them into our Stone Soup. Click on my affiliate links to purchase your copies of Stone Soup:
