Identifying rhyming words is a skill we work on all year in Kindergarten. This rhyming activity is a fun way to practice this important skill!
This literacy center includes 32 pictures cards and “rhymes” / “does not rhyme” sorting cards. Use them as a warm up activity for small groups and then place them in a literacy center. Kids love to play this activity over and over!
How to Play
To prepare this activity simply print, laminate and cut. Place the cards in a heart shaped container. Set the heading cards on the table. A student will choose one card and say the name of the two pictures on the card such as “jug, mug”. Next, they determine if the two words rhyme and place them with the appropriate heading card.
